Artist says debut gallery showcase is “a privilege”

A LICHFIELD artist says being given the chance to make her showcase her work in a local gallery is “a privilege”.

Molly Beard’s work is currently featuring at The Courtyard Fine Art Lounge.

The 32-year-old artist and illustrator uses a mixed media of gouache, watercolour, marker pens, pencils and ink as she “captures life’s small but significant moments”.

Her work has previously adorned the cover of the Lichfield Bower programme and has created a number of pieces featuring the city.

Molly said:

“This gallery residency means the world to me.

“It’s such a privilege to be able to showcase my work in this environment and start to get my name established.”

Molly – who is also a featured artist for fine art materials manufacturer Daler-Rowney – said her techniques had evolved since she began working as an artist following her A-Levels and study at South Staffordshire College.

She said:

“I’ve developed my style through years of happy mistakes and being a self-proclaimed perfectionist.

“I love to challenge my skillset everyday and I’m always eager to experiment with new materials and the never ending possibilities of art.”
