Yorkshire Dales National Park hosts new art exhibition

The Nature of the Environment by artist Nancy Stedman is currently on display at the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority’s Yoredale office.

The free exhibition is open to the public until mid-November and can be viewed Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 4.30pm.

Ms Stedman, from Farnhill near Keighley, said: “We probably have an unrealistic view of the earth and rocks below us as stable and unchanging.

“But there are processes underway around us all the time – rock faces cracking apart, soils developing, earth eroding and accreting, rivers braiding and ponds silting up.

“Some of the works focus on that ever-changing, never-still interface between land and water.”

The Yorkshire Dales National Park is one of 15 National Parks in the UK, with all of its work guided by the vision for the future of the National Park.
