MA graduates from Winchester School of Art (WSA) presented their work on Friday, September 19, during the British Fashion Council’s main schedule for London Fashion Week
The runway show that begun at 7pm welcomed the Winchester based students as the only university represented on the official schedule.
Daisy McMullan, principal teaching fellow and programme leader for MA Textile Design and MA Fashion Design at WSA, said: “The talent coming out of Winchester this year is honestly, notable.
“It has been incredible watching each of these designers grow.
“We are so proud to take our spot at London Fashion Week this Friday, showcasing side by side with the biggest names in fashion.”
All but one of the designers in this year’s cohort is from China, reflecting the UK’s growing appeal for international students.
Many are drawn by the UK’s strong reputation in the arts, global industry connections, and an environment that encourages creativity and independence.
WSA, alongside institutions like Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art, continues to reinforce the UK’s position as a global centre for design talent.
The show celebrated freedom of self-expression, with graduates presenting collections that explore their individual identities and creative visions.
One of the participating students has been sponsored by the Jordanian government.
The showcase offered graduates a high-profile platform to gain exposure and connect with industry professionals, as well as highlighting the university’s impact on the international fashion landscape.
The event was an important milestone for the graduates and a testament to the university’s influence in shaping the next generation of fashion talent.
WSA is also due to be featured on ITV in September, following the momentous event.
