Authored by park founders Simon and Monique Gudgeon, Sculpture by the Lakes: A Journey of Art, Landscape and Conservation traces the transformation of a former fishery into an internationally recognised sculpture park and botanic garden.
The book details the couple’s creative journey, illustrating how their love for art, landscape design and conservation shaped the park.
Simon said: “This book is more than just a record of our work; it’s about the power of art and landscape to restore, to challenge, and to bring peace.”
The book provides insight into the couple’s vision, combining Simon’s sculptures with Monique’s gardens.
Monique said: “We hope the book inspires others to see what’s possible when creativity and conservation work hand in hand.”
Sculpture by the Lakes, spanning 26 acres of land, is home to more than 100 sculptures.
It is the only sculpture park in the world to be recognised as an accredited botanic garden.
The park includes themed planting areas, wetlands and conservation initiatives supporting native species and biodiversity.
The book celebrates these achievements, showcasing the park’s artistic creativity, horticultural design, and ecological importance.

Simon and Monique will host a book signing on Thursday, November 20, from 5pm to 7pm at The Makers Yard.
