Artists wanted for Richmond’s biggest open art exhibition

Artists are being invited to book for Richmond’s biggest open art exhibition.

Every year, The Station gathers together a range of artists, photographers and craftspeople for their annual exhibition A Spot on the Wall.

Whether the artist is a first-time exhibitor, or they have been exhibited for years, as a profession or hobby, their work sits side by side on the walls of the beautiful old railway building.

Artists pay for a ‘spot’, where they display their work alongside pieces by other artists.

As a piece of art is sold from the artist’s spot, they replace it with another piece, and so the exhibition is constantly changing.

All artwork in the exhibition can be purchased from The Station Shop.

The exhibition will run this year from Thursday, December 5 to Wednesday, January 15, 2025, giving artists six weeks to showcase their work to thousands of visitors over the busy Christmas and New Year period.

Gallery manager Sarah Iveson said: “A Spot on the Wall is a real highlight of the year at The Station Gallery, and is always a wonderful collaboration of artists from across the spectrum of amateur to professional.

“There is no application process – while spaces last artists are invited to book a spot to take part in this special exhibition.”

For hanging work, each artist is able to book up to three spaces.

A limited number of cabinets are also available for artists to display ceramics, woodwork, and other artwork.

Bookings close at midnight on Sunday, November 3.
