This year sees the centenary of Claude Monet’s death – and Nottingham art lovers are marking the anniversary by snapping up tickets for an immersive spectacular which brings his iconic paintings to life in mesmerising and magical fashion.

The artist hailed as the ‘Father of Impressionism’ died in 1926 at the age of 86.

But his stunning and evocative artworks live on, and they and their inspirational creator are being celebrated in Beyond Monet: The Immersive Experience – the only show of its kind dedicated to the artist currently in the UK.

And it will be presented at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena this summer.

In addition, Nottingham visitors can also enjoy the work of Vincent Van Gogh in a double artistic residency which runs from July 18 to August 7.

Tickets for both immersive experiences feature a range of entry options including special family tickets which offer great savings on individual prices.

Beyond Monet and Beyond Van Gogh are produced by Annerin Productions and Paquin Entertainment Group.

The Monet experience celebrates his groundbreaking work in bewitching style, with cutting-edge technology breathing new life into more than 400 of the legendary French painter’s canvases, taking visitors on a spectacular and unforgettable audio-visual journey through his captivating and colourful world.

Beyond Monet brings together some of the artist’s most famous paintings – including Poppies, Impression: Sunrise, and his exquisite water lilies series – with lesser-known works which all swirl around the space, offering a fresh and exciting new look at much-loved masterpieces and a deeper connection with Monet, his subjects and his innovative technique.

Taking inspiration from Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris, the designated home of Monet’s works, visitors can freely roam the infinity room where they are transported inside the paintings themselves to the accompaniment of a moving original score.

The Van Gogh experience brings together more than 300 of the post-impressionist icon’s paintings blended with cutting-edge technology and a specially curated musical soundtrack to tell the story of one of history’s most influential artists, with people able to wander through iconic works – including The Starry Night, Sunflowers and Terrace of a Café at Night – as they came alive around them.

And alongside the main immersive gallery, visitors at both venues will exit through a beautifully designed reflection space.

Annerin needs the UK’s biggest exhibition halls to show its experiences, with the main immersive room being 10,000sq ft in size.

Anna Parry, UK business development at Annerin Productions, said today: “It’s 100 years this year since Claude Monet died, and in his native France the anniversary is being marked with a whole programme of exhibitions, events and activities.

“I’m very pleased we’re able to pay our own tribute to the great man’s artistic genius with Beyond Monet: The Immersive Experience and absolutely delighted it has also captivated the interest of art lovers in Nottingham in this very special year.

“Of course, we’re bringing not one but two immersive experiences to Motorpoint Arena Nottingham this summer, and Beyond Van Gogh is also proving hugely popular with visitors.

“Together, it’s going to be quite a summer, and I can guarantee everyone who comes to experience either Beyond Monet or Beyond Van Gogh will have a memorable and moving visit.”

Tickets for all experiences can be booked at beyondvangogh.co.uk or beyondmonet.co.uk
