MEDINA, Ohio — Access the Arts is offering two summer arts camps for children and teens next month, giving participants a chance to showcase their work during the annual Strawberry Arts Fest in Medina Square.
The camps, scheduled for June 24-26, will focus on a range of creative activities, including music, dance, visual arts, and digital design.
Children entering grades 1 through 5 this fall can participate in the Celebrate the Arts Camp, which will run from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the United Church of Christ, 217 E. Liberty St.
The camp will introduce students to music, dance and both two-dimensional and three-dimensional visual arts through hands-on instruction led by professional arts teachers. Participants also will prepare performances and create artwork for display at the festival.
Teens entering grades 6 through 12 can attend the Teens Digital Art Camp, held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Medina County District Library.
The digital art camp will teach students the basics of programs including Procreate and Google Drawing. Organizers said all devices and materials will be provided, and no prior experience is required.
Both camps will conclude with participation in the Strawberry Arts Fest, scheduled for June 28 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Medina Square.
Festival activities will include performances in the gazebo, artwork displays, more than 80 art vendors, children’s activities, food trucks, and concerts by local bands beginning at 4 p.m.
