Mayfaire by-the-lake brings 150 artists to Lake Morton May 9-10


Mayfaire by-the-Lake will bring more than 150 artist booths displaying a wide variety of artwork around Lake Morton on May 9 and 10.

The 54th year of the arts festival will feature the artwork of Kate Carney depicting three ducks, one holding a paint brush, on a colorful background titled, “Art Lovers.”

The event, open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, is free to the public and features artists working with everything from clay and fiber arts to digital art. It has ranked in Sunshine Artist Magazine’s “200 Best Art Shows” in Florida for 10 years in a row.

What you need to know

When: May 9 and 10, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Around the east side of Lake Morton

Parking: Lime Street and Massachusetts Avenue is the recommended parking lot.

Shuttle: There’s a free shuttle service to the festival from Florida Southern College, at Johnson Avenue and Frank Lloyd Wright Way. It runs from approximately 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.
