Organisers of a booming art exhibition which attracted crowds of visitors to a historic venue, say its a prominent event for the town.
More than 1,000 people are reported to have flocked to The Sessions House in Spalding, as the popular event returned on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10.
The exhibition also attracted art gallery owners who had travelled from Norfolk and Gainsborough to get a piece of the action.

It was Spalding artist, Joey Lowe’s fourth time organising the event. He said: “Its safe to say the exhibition went really well.
“I would put money on this exhibition being the biggest Spalding has ever had – I feel proud of what’s been achieved.
“Its proving the event works and that its needed in the town, they are extremely successful.”

About 50 artists showcased their work including the local MP for South Holland and the Deepings, Sir John Hayes, who also submitted an entry and attended on Saturday night.
The new ‘mini youth exhibition’ which featured artwork from five schools in the area which included St Norbert’s Catholic Primary School, Spalding Academy, Bourne Academy, Cowley Academy of Donington and Giles Academy, Boston, was a success, and Joey hopes to organise a separate youth exhibition in the future.
“Hosting these events makes me feel like I’m helping people on their journey,” Joey added.

“Its nice to give the next generation an opportunity to exhibit their work.
“As much as I’m the face and voice of what goes on, there is a small team behind the scenes who volunteer their time to help with the event.
“In my opinion The Sessions House has become the town’s go-to art venue – the exhibition is becoming prominent and its showcasing talent in our area.”

Individuals from local art organisations attended the event and expressed interest in supporting future exhibitions.
The former grade II listed building was also launching its new al fresco dining experience for its takeaway service, The Courtyard Cafe over the weekend.
