LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) – You’ve heard of a bull in a china shop, but what about a deer in an art gallery? Workers are picking up the pieces after a deer crashed through the front door of Gateway Art Gallery in Lake City on Wednesday.
Lisa Eikenberry, a gallery employee, tells TV20, she was just sitting at her desk when she heard a crash and the door flew open. As she dialed 911, the buck ran around the gallery, wrecking the window displays.
When officers arrived, the deer was found lying down in the gallery’s bathroom. They closed all the doors and waited for Florida Fish and Wildlife (FWC) agents.
FWC was able to tranquilize the deer and remove it from the building. They plan to release the deer in a safe location.
