A new art gallery at the Columbus Municipal Airport is looking for artists to display their works in series of exhibits this year.
ArtPort in the Airport is issuing an open call for artists to take part as guest artists every month this year. According to the airport, more than 7,000 passengers and patrons of the restaurant at the airport will pass by the gallery every month. The gallery entrance will be the first door on the right as people come into the terminal building on Ray Boll Boulevard.
The artwork can be framed or unframed but must be able to be hung from hooks on acrylic rods in the gallery space, which is about 52 feet long. The artwork will be lit by fluorescent as well as LED track lighting. Depending on the number of artists chosen to take part, there could be multiple artists work on display each month.
If you are interested in applying to take part in the exhibitions, you can stop by the administrative offices at the airport terminal building for a flyer or email [email protected]. The application and photos of the artwork must be submitted electronically.
