Family-run lift supplier Stannah has launched a through-floor homelift range, Uplifts, as part of its mission to make vertical living more accessible and stylish and cater to the evolving needs of modern homeowners.
Uplifts represents a significant leap forward in residential lift technology and design, offering homeowners worldwide access to state-of-the-art engineering wrapped in sleek, modern aesthetics, according to Stannah.
The innovative homelifts have been designed to enhance daily life in multifaceted ways, according to Stannah, helping to make everyday tasks simpler and more accessible. By removing the physical barriers of stairs, the lifts ensure that every part of the home remains usable, regardless of life stage, blending practicality with luxury in modern living.
Uplifts was founded and led by Sam Stannah, a sixth-generation member of the renowned Stannah family business, who own and lead Stannah Group, the British multinational most famous for being a market leader in stairlift manufacturing and distribution,
Sam Stannah’s leadership in developing Uplifts demonstrates his commitment to advancing home mobility technology while honouring his family’s esteemed 150-year legacy. This new brand combines Stannah’s long standing reputation for quality with cutting-edge design, aiming to redefine accessibility solutions for a broader range of consumers worldwide.
Sam Stannah, CEO of Uplifts commented: “We’re really excited to introduce Uplifts to the market. Our team has worked tirelessly to create a product that not only meets the high standards associated with our family’s engineering and manufacturing legacy but also pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in homelift design.
“Uplifts represents our commitment to enhancing mobility and independence in the home, wrapped in a package that homeowners will be proud to showcase.”
The space-saving range comes in two sizes: the S2, which can accommodate one or two people standing, and the S3, still compact yet perfect for two or three people, or a wheelchair. Uplifts offers versatility and elegance, with light-filled cabins and discreet rail guides striking a balance between aesthetics and functionality.
The Uplifts range of homelifts have a shaft-less design, meaning minimal modifications to your home, facilitating quick installation and making them much less expensive than traditional shaft-based lift solutions.
As the homelifts can plug into a standard power socket, they offer with low power consumption no different to other common home appliances.
The drive system sits hidden in the top of the lift, so there is no need for a machine room or the installation of a hydraulic pump unit nearby, and drives you smoothly and quietly between floors. It is available with a set of accessories such as integrated seats, handrails, shelves, and even a bench, and a variety of finishes to complement any interior décor.
A half-height door creates a light and open feel, and a non-slip, low gradient, integrated ramp allows easy access whether you are stepping in, or rolling in with a wheelchair.
Warm ambient lighting diffuses through the “lampshade” at the top of the cabin, creating a homely feel whilst making the homelift safe and easy to use at any time.
Packed with safety features: From emergency communication systems, safety edges, overload detectors and an independent braking system.
The launch of Uplifts marks a significant milestone in home mobility solutions, addressing the needs of an ageing global population and the increased focus on accessible living. Uplifts is poised to become a leader in the growing homelift market, offering products that combine functionality with aesthetic appeal.
“As a sixth-generation member of a family with a rich history in the lift industry, I’m incredibly proud to lead this new venture,” added Sam Stannah. “Uplifts embodies our heritage of quality and innovation while looking firmly to the future of home mobility solutions.”
Stannah recently opened a new factory at its homebase in Andover, UK. The 160-year-old business welcomed Mayor Heather Neate to cut the ribbon on the new 90,000 square foot factory – on the same day the one millionth stairlift left its production line.
