MARTIN, Tenn.—One local exhibition offers a look at some unique works of art.
The 11th Annual Guitar As Art Exhibition took place as part of the Tennessee Soybean Festival Sunday afternoon. The art was on display in the gallery at UT Martin’s Fine Arts Building.
The exhibit features gorgeous hand-painted and beautifully decorated guitars with designs ranging from bright colorful scenic views, to classic cartoon themed art. Each piece was uniquely created by the artists to include the same type of canvas, an acoustic guitar.
Some of the art also includes mixed-media and 2D art components with beautiful multifaceted designs, some with ethnic themes, music themes and more.
Along with enjoying the art, there was also live music and refreshments available. And an awards ceremony took place at 3 p.m. for the best works.
The art exhibition is free to attend and will remain on display until September 20 for public view from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm daily.
