An opening event for Jason Orr’s new collection, ‘Reclaiming the Cone’, takes place at the Wyllieum on Saturday, December 6 from 2-4pm, though the exhibition will remain on show at the waterfront gallery until December 21.
A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art’s environmental art department, and a practising professional artist, Jason has worked as a production designer, art director and prop master in the UK TV and film industry for the last 25 years.
Last year he told the Telegraph how he and his school pals became, at the age of 10, the first to scale the Duke of Wellington statue outside what’s now Glasgow’s Gallery of Modern Art and place a traffic cone on the Duke’s head.
With wife Karen, who he met while the pair were studying at art school, Jason is also the co-founder of Inverclyde‘s own RIG Arts charity.
The Wyllieum is open from 12 noon until 5pm, Wednesday to Saturday, and admission is free.
