Gallery Walk gets underway tonight


Hot Springs’ monthly Gallery Walk features the opening of new art exhibitions showcased in downtown fine art galleries and studio spaces.

According to the Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance, the following galleries are open for Gallery Walk from 5–9 p.m. today:

All Things Arkansas, 610 Central Ave., features products from Arkansas, made in Arkansas and related to Arkansas. It is open for Gallery Walk with one-of-a-kind local treasures.

American Art Gallery, 724 Central Ave., has “been a cornerstone of the local art community and gallery scene for over 30 years and features works from established and emerging artists,” the gallery said.

Aqua, 340 Central Ave., features local artists Lori Arnold and Alison Parsons and one-of-a-kind handbags by the Arkansas woman-owned line Wolf and Willa. Located adjacent to the Waters Hotel, Aqua is the sister store to Wrapped and is open until 7 p.m.

Artists’ Workshop Gallery, 610-A Central Ave. Featured artists include Linda Gaeta and Teresa Widdifield. Gaeta focuses on creating doll sculptures utilizing unique masks from all over the world she has collected for over 30 years. Widdifield’s primary mediums are oil and acrylic and her paintings of women portray femininity, grace and inner strength. Widdifield is also an accomplished pet portrait artist. Featured miniature artists are Jan Briggs and Maureen Rousseau. Charlie Mink will provide the soundtrack.

Catch My Eye Magic, 801 Central Ave., Suite 11, featuring freehand paintings, handmade jewelry, art prints, henna body art, painted journals, scrunchies, stickers, bracelets, tarot cards, art print tote bags and handmade crystal rings.

Collective Arts Gallery, 620 Central Ave., Suite 2B. Featuring 60 local artists, the gallery is located on the second floor, with elevator access in the back of the building. “As always, wine and snacks will be available and contributed by our generous artists,” the gallery said.

Espresso Yourselfie, 801 Central Ave., Suite 30. Featuring expertly brewed espresso drinks alongside mocktails and zero-proof beer.

Justus Fine Art Gallery, 827-A Central Ave. The July Exhibit will feature a wide selection of paintings by artists including: Mark Blaney, Donnie Copeland, Matthew Hasty, Dolores Justus, John Lasater, Sammy Peters, Tony Saladino and Rebecca Thompson, along with pastel drawings by Dennis McCann, ceramics by Michael Ashley, bronze and ceramic sculpture by Michael Warrick, wood sculpture by Robyn Horn and Sandra Sell, wood-turned vessels by Gene Sparling, mixed media sculpture by Elizabeth Weber and others.

Legacy Fine Art Gallery, 804 Central Ave., will celebrate the beauty, imagination, and diversity of fine art with new work by Patrick Cunningham. “Stop by and let the evening inspire you with color, creativity, and conversation,” the gallery said.
