Jane Hallington, an artist and volunteer at Lowes Court Gallery, Egremont, is displaying her work throughout September.
Her pieces, which are created using stained and kiln-formed glass, include windows, table tops, lamps, water features, wall hangings, landscapes, ornaments, and fire screens.
Ms Hallington, a keen climber and fell walker, retired from the nuclear industry to focus on her art.
She is largely self-taught and began working with glass because, she says, it allows her to express the beauty of the Lake District fells and mountains.
Ms Hallington said: “It gives me a way to express what I see in the Lake District fells and mountains in both a functional and a decorative way.”
Her work is influenced by American glass artist Dave Chihuly, and she is known for her bold designs and the rich depth of colour in her pieces.
Ms Hallington’s display is on view until Saturday, September 27, and she will be at the gallery for a ‘Meet the Artist’ event on Saturday, September 6, from 11am to 1pm.
The gallery, on Main Street, Egremont, is open from 10am to 1.30pm Tuesday to Saturday and stocks a variety of arts and crafts.
This includes paintings and photographs by other gallery artists, prints and cards, textiles, glassware, jewellery, ceramics, and wood.
