Alan depicts Lake District landscapes with oil paintings on board. His finely painted work has helped him establish a collector base of thousands of customers all over the world.
Described as ‘amongst the best of his generation’, Alan also brings light into his paintings by revealing the glinting surface of a river or the glow of a sunset or sunrise.
He was born near Penrith in 1953 and went on to study at Carlisle College of Art. Alan and his wife, Kathryn, live locally and have three children and several grandchildren.
