NPOS Spring Exhibition to open at Fishguard arts centre

The North Pembrokeshire Open Studios (NPOS) Spring Exhibition will begin on Saturday, May 23 at the West Wales Arts Centre at Peppers in Fishguard.

It will feature work by artists and makers from Pembrokeshire and West Wales in a variety of mediums including painting, ceramics, sculpture, jewellery and mixed media.

A special public launch event will take place that afternoon from 3pm to 6pm, giving attendees the opportunity to meet the artists behind the works on display.

An NPOS spokesman said: “Running until Saturday, June 6, the spring exhibition brings together a diverse collection of artists and makers from across Pembrokeshire and West Wales, offering an early opportunity to experience the breadth and quality of work featured in this year’s North Pembrokeshire Open Studios Art Trail.”

“Visitors can expect a rich mix of creative styles and mediums including painting, ceramics, glass, sculpture, printmaking, jewellery, mixed media and more. Many of the participating artists draw inspiration from the Pembrokeshire landscape, coastline, wildlife and cultural heritage.”

The exhibition will run until Saturday, June 6 and serves as a lead-in to the 2026 North Pembrokeshire Open Studios Art Trail.

The art trail will take place from August 22 to September 6.

A printed trail guide will be available locally from early summer to help visitors plan their visits and explore creative spaces across the region.

A second group show, the NPOS Summer Exhibition, will also take place at the West Wales Arts Centre.

It will run from Saturday, August 15 to Saturday, September 5, coinciding with the main art trail period.

NPOS is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting artists and promoting the creative and cultural landscape of North Pembrokeshire and West Wales.

Through its exhibitions and annual art trail, the organisation encourages cultural tourism, creative engagement and year-round visibility for the region’s arts community.

The West Wales Arts Centre at Peppers is located at 16 West Street in Fishguard.

The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday from 11am to 4pm and on Saturdays from 11am to 3pm.

It is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
