Bucks Art Weeks: Countywide ‘festival of creativity’ returns

Back with a bang, the popular event will offer the public a peek behind the scenes of the local creative scene.

Over 300 venues will throw open their doors from June 6 to 21, promising an “unprecedented” variety of work, spanning traditional fine art and contemporary sculpture to hand-fired ceramics, jewellery, and digital media.

The initiative goes beyond simply showcasing art; it’s all about the dialogue it sparks.

Sam Burke, chair of Bucks Artists and Makers, which organises the event, said: “Bucks Art Weeks is about more than just looking at art on a wall, it’s about the conversation between the artist and the visitor.

“With many more venues this year, there truly is a creative corner to discover in every part of the county.”

Highlights this year include a unique countywide opportunity for the public, stretching boundaries from Milton Keynes to South Bucks.

With artists actively working live, spectators get to unravel complicated techniques like glassblowing and stone carving.

For those wishing to bag exclusive creations, they can purchase original pieces straight from the creators, often at studio prices.

Bucks Art Weeks continues to play a pivotal role in the local cultural calendar.

It underpins the local creative economy while offering an engaging day out for families and art enthusiasts alike.
