An art exhibition bringing together a display of creativity and community is set to take place in Cornwall.
The Truro Art Society’s spring exhibition will be held in the historic stalls of the stables at the National Trust’s Trelissick estate near Truro, running from Saturday, May 2, to Sunday, May 17, 2026.
Featuring a diverse collection of work by both amateur and professional artists, the exhibition showcases a variety of media and artistic styles.
Jen Pina, property operations manager at Trelissick, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Truro Art Society to Trelissick to share their work, and to support the development of local art and artists in the community.”
The society, established in the 1950s and, aside from a couple of revamps, continuing today, brings together artists and art enthusiasts alike.
Members and guests meet on Thursday mornings each month for talks, demonstrations, and socialising.
While many of the exhibitors are amateur artists, the society includes a mix of professionals and welcomes anyone interested in art, regardless of experience.
The exhibition will feature works in watercolour, oil, acrylic, pastel, pen, and pencil, as well as block printing and collage.
Subjects range from seascapes and landscapes to botany, portraits, abstract pieces, and still life.
Many members draw inspiration from Cornish life, environment and light levels, resulting in artwork that reflects the region’s character.
Past exhibitions have also included ceramics, wood turning, and handicrafts.
The setting for the exhibition, Trelissick, is known for its scenic gardens, especially vibrant in spring.
Visitors can enjoy blooming camellias and rhododendrons, as well as bluebells, cherry blossom, woodland wildflowers, and wisteria lining the walled garden.
This backdrop offers a fitting setting for a celebration of art rooted in the Cornish landscape.
The spring exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday, May 2, to Sunday, May 17, 2026.
