The performer and presenter visited the popular shopping centre in West Thurrock on Tuesday evening to celebrate the new Christmas Borealis installation, which runs until December 15.
The breath-taking display brings a mesmerising blend of light, colour, and music, created by artist Dan Acher to combine technology and the elements using beams of light to travel through cloud particles, creating a magical illusion of the Northern Lights.
The art piece shines over the lake, and was developed to provide a free festive experience to families in a challenging financial period for many – revelling in the gift of giving.

Denise van Outen said: “Christmas is such a magical time, but I know from experience how easily the pressure can creep in – especially for parents trying to juggle so much and wanting to make everything perfect for their children.
“The truth is, kids remember the moments, and simple, shared experiences are what stay with them. Free experiences like Borealis by Dan Acher at Lakeside are such a brilliant way for families to take a breather, soak up some magic, and make memories without spending a fortune.”
The display is accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack by French composer Guillaume Desbois, adding an extra layer of emotion and ambience to the experience.

A Lakeside spokesperson said: “The mesmerising installation offers parents and children a chance to pause, soak up the festive atmosphere, and enjoy a magical moment together.
“For most parents visiting us, being able to shop and entertain their children in the same place significantly reduces Christmas stress.”
Research by Lakeside in partnership with Research Without Barriers found that seven in ten parents say that in-store experiences, from events to immersive displays, make a real difference to their family Christmas.
More than a third of families claimed they can’t afford festive activities, and more than a quarter of UK parents feel overwhelmed at Christmas as they struggle with financial pressures of keeping the magic alive.
These findings urged the centre to host the display, with more events and activities planned over the festive period, including the widely beloved Christmas Wonderland.
With more than 250 retail stores and a variety of entertainment venues, Lakeside prides itself as the ultimate destination for shopping, dining, and leisure – with regular events and promotions.
