Two projects, the North Stoneham Art Trail and one at Fleming Park, are already underway as part of the Together We Make Eastleigh town centre improvements programme.
A brief to create murals celebrating Eastleigh’s identity and heritage, working with Barton Peveril college students, is also being finalised.
They will be put in place at the alleyway running from Costa at Market Street to Iceland on High Street and a section of Mitchell Road car park wall facing onto the eastern end of Regal Walk.
Artists Nathan Evans and Sophie Rawlingson recently led a workshop for a group of art and media students at Barton Peveril College.
Students were encouraged to research Eastleigh town centre and then create designs and motifs that fulfilled the objectives of Nathan’s mural brief.
The £154,124 allocation was approved at an Eastleigh Local Area Committee meeting on November 3.
The funds are from developers’ contributions.
A council spokesperson said: “The funds have been allocated into a central pot to make it easier to manage spending them on multiple projects against the Vision for Public Art in Eastleigh.”
