Open Art exhibition set to return to Bolton Museum


Artists who live, work, or study in Bolton are encouraged to submit creations in any medium, from painting and drawing to sculpture and digital art.

Participants must be at least 16 years old.

Artworks can be submitted on Thursday, January 29 from 12pm to 6pm and Saturday, January 31 from 10am to 4pm.

A panel will judge the selected submissions, determining winners for the Winner’s Prize, the Visitors’ Choice Award, and the Young Artists Prize.

The Open Art exhibition has become a regular feature in Bolton’s cultural calendar, giving space to both new and established artists.

Previous editions have brought together a wide range of styles and approaches, reflecting the diversity of the town’s creative community.

Earlier exhibited artworks included Light and Weight by Alicja Ostrowska and Nev’s Kingdom by George Pott.

The exhibition is scheduled to open its doors to the public on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
