The event on Tuesday, May 20 invites residents to explore the range of volunteering roles in Dorchester.
Visitors can drop into the museum’s Victorian Hall between 11am and 3pm to meet representatives from various organisations and charities seeking volunteers.
The event provides insight into both regular and flexible volunteering roles.
Claire Dixon, the museum’s executive director, said: “We’re thrilled to be hosting our very first Volunteer Open Day and to welcome organisations from across Dorset who are looking for volunteers.
“Volunteers are at the heart of so many charities and community groups and this event is a fantastic opportunity to discover how you can get involved.
