Having lived for 25 years in Cannes, where his children grew up, Otello Finetto, 70, is fond of a glass of wine or two — a good burgundy would be his ideal tipple.
Finetto, a retired lawyer from Sweden but now living in Marylebone, London, began investing in fine wine in 2019 and then became more interested while “locked up in France with nothing to do during the pandemic”.
Since then he has used the investment platform WineCap to invest about £15,000 — about 10 per cent of his overall portfolio, which includes shares, property and art.
