Art cognoscenti, connoisseurs and collectors descend on the capital for a jam-packed weekend as Frieze returns to Regent’s Park – but everyone’s invited. Discover myriad collections across multiple mediums as some of the world’s greatest galleries showcase work by celebrated artists and emerging talents. Highlights include Charlotte Edey’s solo exhibition, Thin Places, with Ginny on Frederick at Booth F3, which posits interior and exterior worlds as permeable, imagined landscapes with no clear delineation between the body and mind, selves and others, and objects and sites.” Meanwhile, at Stephen Friedman Gallery’s Booth Booth B16, Caroline Walker and Clare Woods show their latest work. Caroline’s work examines the diverse social, cultural and economic experiences of women living in modern society, with her latest work exploring overlooked jobs performed by women. In contrast, Clare’s latest paintings draw on photographs taken in Regent’s Park 20 years ago. Peruse the booths before deliberating on the day’s discoveries over exceptional lunch offerings at pop-ups from Jikoni, Sessions Arts Club, and Maison François.
Outside the ticketed fair, discover Frieze Sculpture. The sculptures dotted across Regent’s Park remain until Sunday 27 October, and their arrival attracts aesthetes of all ages. Fatoş Üstek has curated an expanded collection of works for the 2024 edition, involving 22 leading creatives from five continents.
Many of London’s hospitality giants have created unique activations and menus to celebrate Frieze. Celebrated chef Nicolas Rouzaud has partnered with British artist Liz West to create an edible work of art available for The Connaught Patisserie, transforming Liz’s passion for optics, geometry and colour into something delicious. In Vauxhall, Damien Hirst’s Newport Street Gallery has been transformed into ‘Pario’, a bold pop-up led by chefs Charles Bryant and George Browne, where spectacular dishes present a fresh, seasonal approach to modern British cuisine in a warm, convivial environment.
